4 The Locals: A Yuletide Ride....

Looking for something fun to do this Saturday with the kiddies? Well, if you are local and live in the Philadelphia area, then you may want to check out the Yultide Ride that PATCO is hosting this Saturday November 28, 2009.

The fun begins at 9am at the Woodcrest Train Station (Click here for directions). Hop on the 9:50 am or 10:05 am train to Center City....your one-way fare is FREE...for the entire family!!! Santa will be there along with clowns and musicians too. Once on the train get off at 8th/Market and visit the Model Railroad at Reading Terminal. Then take a walk down to 13th/Market (Inside Macy's) for the Holiday Lights Show (Show runs every hour on the hour) and Dickens "Christmas Carol" an animated walk through scene. Finally head on over to 16th & Arch Streets for The Comcast Holiday Spectacular .

All 3 of the above holiday displays are free too attend for the entire family!! Perhaps grab a bite to eat afterwards and you have a holiday spirited fun-filled day of fun on the cheap!!

It's Friday....Time 4 Fun!!

Another week has flown by and once again it's time for Family Fun Friday hosted by Moms By Heart. In our family each year on the Friday right before Easter it's time for some family fun and good times dying eggs!! It's a family affair...everyone comes over with their hard boiled eggs in hand and we get started making those plain white eggs...Oh so pretty!!

Little Man just loves this holiday tradition!! Especially picking out the many different dye kits we purchase prior to the big Dye night! This will be Little Miss's first year really dying eggs...but I know she will love it just as her big brother does!!

Not only is dying eggs a fun time...it's also very cheap to do!! In fact one of the Easter Egg dye kits I purchased was FREE after Extra Bucks a few weeks back at CVS!! And not to mention that just last week one of our local Supermarkets had 18-eggs for just $1.49!!!

So why not grab the family, a few dozen eggs, some dye kits and start making your white eggs as pretty as ours!!

Go Egg Hunting......

Well, it's Friday...so what does that mean? It's time for Family Fun Friday over at Moms By Heart!! Who doesn't love Friday? I know I do!! So what would be better than to share fun family things to do for under $10...Yup, that's right under $10!!!

This week I will share a sort of holiday fun thing to do on the cheap...since Easter is just around the corner and all!! Be on the lookout for Easter Egg Hunts in or near your hometown. I know my 2 kiddies just love finding Easter Eggs filled with goodies!! Who wouldn't right?

In our hometown this Saturday our local Chic Fil A is actually having an Egg hunt at 11:30 am. It's free for the kiddies to participate....and it's sure to be a good time for them!! Plus, hubby and I get a kick out of seeing them searching for the eggs and watching their baskets fill up fast. Not to mention how excited they get to see all the goodies inside after the hunt is over!!

A local church near our home is also hosting an Egg Hunt, next weekend. Once again this hunt is free to participate as well.

Where do you find out about local Egg Hunts? Look in your local newspaper, check your local TV stations website, look for signs in area restaurants, ask neighbors or friends. Or you could even call around to local kid-friendly places...it does not hurt to ask!
