Scrambled Eggs...Teach Me, Please!!!

Do you ever go out to a restaurant and get a meal and it was so delicious, you just wish you could make it that good at home?? It has happened to me many times . Especially in the Eggs department. Sometimes we go out for a nice yummy breakfast on a Saturday or Sunday morning (If we can get up and out early enough, that is!) and the eggs are just so delicious!! So light, fluffy, just perfect in every way.....especially taste!! I have to stop........I am getting hungry...LOL LOL

So time after time hubby and/or I have tried to replicate those same yummy, fluffy scrambled eggs at home to no avail. The only resemblance we can see is the yellow color...LOL We tried buying new pans, different egg brands, adding a splash of milk before mixing....just not having any luck!!

So we are asking for your help on the scrambled egg topic. Do you make the prefect scrambled eggs? Can you help us....so we can enjoy yummy eggs in our home too? Please let us know how you do it!! What are we missing? I promise, our tummys will Thank You!!

Meat....How We Do It!!

It's Tipster Tuesday over at BeCentsAble and this week is all about buying meat. As you are well aware, I'm sure...meat is very expensive these days...but for us it is a must have with almost every dinner we eat. We have been trying to have at least one meatless dinner a week...key word trying!!! LOL LOL We are meat lovers, what can I say??!! So since not buying it is not a reasonable option for our family, I just try my best to do a few things to keep the costs down while enjoying our scrumptious meat-included dinners...LOL

Stock-Up During Sales- Why pay $4.69 a lb. for boneless chicken breasts when you can get it on sale for just $1.99 at least once a month?? For us we are a chicken loving family...so when it goes on sale...I stock-up!! We do not have an extra freezer with tons of meat stock-piled....but when the large family sized packs go on sale...I buy 2 of them to hold us over until the next sale. If I know we are going to have company over I buy an extra pack just in case. Yes, it is about $8-10 for each jumbo pack, sometimes totaling up to $30 in one week....but then in the next few weeks I am not buying ANY chicken....so it all evens out cost wise over the weeks!!


Plan Your Meals- I know sometimes you crave to have something for dinner at times...and I dare not tell you to deny yourself. But try to limit your cravings...to say maybe once a week, or so. We are big into meal planning!! If chicken and roast pork is on sale this week...that is what we will be eating, for sure!! Also make sure that the ingredients that go into whatever dishes you plan on making for the week are on sale or you have most on hand. I know my friend made lasagna a while back....just on the spur of the moment and invited us over for dinner...and she was blown away at just how much Ricotta Cheese, Mozzarella Cheese, and Ground Beef are when not on sale!!

Smaller Portions- Maybe you have a large family, or maybe you only have a little chicken on hand...no problem...just stretch it!! Serve smaller meat portions....maybe instead of having spaghetti with a side of Chicken Parmesan...make pasta with chicken mixed in. This way you still have your chicken..but you did not have to break the budget buying so much meat!!

Made a quick weekly Walmart run....they were out of a few things I went in for...but this is what I was able to get that I needed/had coupons for.....

-1- Trident Xtra Care Gum $1.24 (Used a .75/1 coupon from 7-20 Smart Source insert) Paid just 49 Cents!!

-2- Ronzoni Smart Taste Pasta $1.50 a box (Used 2 $1.00/1 coupon from 8-24 Smart Source insert) Paid just .50 a Box!!

-1- Visine-$3.62 (Used $3.00/1 coupon from All You Magazine) Paid just .62!!

-1- Dannon Drinkables Yogurt 8-pack $2.98 (Used $1.00/1 coupon from All You Magazine) Paid just $1.98!!

-1- Breakstone's Sour Cream (Free...thanks to The Thrifty Jinxy Contest I won!!)

-1- Softsoap Hand Soap- 99 Cents (Used .35/1 coupon from 8/24 Smart Source insert) Paid just 64 Cents!!

After coupon I paid just $ 7.28!!

The Expired's Must Go!!!

In honor of the beginning of a new month.....I decided this weeks tackle would be all about my coupons....and the need to happily see some of the expired's disappear out of my organizer!! The thing is overflowing lately!! So jam packed I cannot even close it!!! Plus....due to the lack of my cleaning out on a regular basis.....I have found myself finding a coupon that would be great for a deal...only to look at the expiration date and see it expired a month ago!!! Bummer!!

I guess 8-31 was a huge Expiration date for a whole lot of coupons....as after I went through all the sections I came up with all these that expired just the other day!!


Just one of those things I never get around to doing....but after I am done cannot believe how much lighter I feel...LOL LOL
