It's Touch-Up Time....

I am sure you know the spot...behind the bathroom sink, on the wall...where the toothpaste and water splatters when you are brushing your teeth. I hope we are not the only household with this problem?? Perhaps maybe we are...in that case maybe we need to tackle our tooth brushing skills instead.......

Not only are there toothpaste/water splatters decorating our bathroom walls, there are also marks on the walls from bath toys, driving hot wheels cars (Little Miss is guilty of this), and just everyday bumps, and nudges into the wall that leaves a mark or two. Not a big project at all...just one that never seems to get done....LOL LOL Oh...and one that needs to get done at nap time as well...as Little Miss loves to stick her hand in wet paint!!!

So today is the day!! I am tackling the Bathroom walls...with paint roller in hand here I go!! Should just take about 15 minutes or so....as our bathroom is quite small. Not a big tackle...but one that I will be happy to see done!!

What are you tackling today?? Need more inspiration? Check out 5 Minutes For Mom...for more tackles!!

I also bought a 2-Pack of Playtex Thermos Sippy Cups, as there was a coupon for 20% off in the BRU coupon book....plus I was able to use it with the 15% off any item coupon as well. So I got them for just $ 5.43!!

Dollar Tree- Ran in for a few cards...and as I walking up the isle to pay I saw lots of Liz Lange Nursing Bras (These are from Target). They were just $1.00 Each!!! A great deal...if they have your size!! At my local Dollar Tree they had lots of 34's and 36's. I loved this nursing bras....they were the only ones I ever bought when nursing....they were around $12-$15 regularly.

Walmart- If you received your Luvs $5.00 diaper coupon in the mail yet...and you are in need of diapers, Walmart's regular price on Luvs is $6.99 a pack. Use the $5 off coupon and get a pack of diapers for just $1.99!!

I also checked to see about using my $2.25 off Electrosol coupon (From last Sunday's coupon inserts)....but the regular price is $3.56...Not cheap enough for me!! LOL LOL I will hold onto it to see if ShopRite has a sale on it before the coupons expiration date!!

May I Have a Snack, Please.....

This exact saying is said in our house multiple times a day!! It seems like in the hot summer months even more than in the winter time.....The summer months bring on lots of outside playtime, trips to the park, swimming, running around, lots of good times for the kiddies!! With all the activities it is no wonder they are always looking for a snack when they take a break for a few minutes to rest.

Now is the fun part for me the Mom.....to try to think of fun, cool, new snacks that are both semi-healthy and fun to eat that the kiddies will enjoy!!! Plus sometime they even need to be on-the-go...as we always take a snack/beverage bag wherever we go!! Here are a few things we have tried and the outcome was great!!

*Rice Cakes with Peanut Butter....Mmm!! Even Hubby and I love these!! We just take a Rice cake and spread a little Peanut Butter on top...it's very filling and very yummy!! You can even buy flavored Rice Cakes for more flavor too!!

*Apple and Cheese Slices...This was one of my favorite snacks as a kid!! I just cut up an apple and cut a few cheese slices about the same size, then place them on a plate together...they are a big hit!!

*Carrot Sticks with Ranch Dip.....Or you can choose any dip your kiddies prefer!! I buy the baby carrots, as they are the perfect size for the kiddies hands!!

*Cubed Fruit on Toothpicks...I know sounds a bit crazy...but Little Man will practically eat anything off of a toothpick!!! This is a great easy, fun way to get him to eat his fruit!!

*Make a Snack Mix...This is especially great on-the-go!! I just take a sandwich Ziploc and fill it with pretzels, raisins, cereal, peanuts, whole grain crackers, etc.

*Peanut Butter Banana Sandwich.....Just take a banana unpeel it, cut it down the center, then smear the middle with Peanut Butter and place the other half back on top...a yummy Peanut Better Banana Sandwich!!

*Toasted Cheese Sticks....Just take 2 Slices of Whole Wheat bread and place a slice of cheese in the middle. Squash down and place in the toaster...when it pops up slice into 4 slices. Kids love them!!

These are just some of the healthy snacks we have tried that the kiddies have grown to really enjoy. I also found that when Little Man helps to make the snack...he enjoys it alot more. Plus he has fun taking part in the preparation as well!!

The kiddies also love lots of pre-made snacks such as yogurt, string cheese, pudding cups, granola bars, jello, etc. Yes of course they love all the sugary not-so-good for them snacks too...I just try to make sure I get a few healthy snacks in there day as often as possible.

Do you have a great healthy snack you kiddies really love?? I'd love to give it a try on my kiddies!!!

Wondering What His Name Is??

Yes, you see he is a culprit that enjoys creeping around in our backyard...although he does not really bother anyone.....he is not very pretty to look at...plus he is taking over!! He has been around for about 3 years now....and I cannot wait for him to go.....Who am I talking about, you ask??? Here is a picture of him.....May I introduce to you....Ground Ivy...our unwanted backyard guest.....

He was here when we moved in about 3 years ago...in little patches here and there...mostly in the flower beds. We did a backyard flower bed overhaul over the past few summers and since then each year the ground ivy has started growing in our back lawn now. Grr!! It is starting to take over!! And it has to go!!

I have been pulling it out by hand for months now......a little each and every week. It is a very tedious task though...as there is alot of it!! I am not a huge fan of chemicals with Little Miss always playing and falling on the grass almost daily...LOL LOL

Is there a better, easier way for him to go??? So to Google, I went...Man, how I love Google!! Godsend in so many instances!! I just typed in vine-type weeds in my state...and many sites appeared with pictures and info. Apparently alot of others would like for Ground Ivy to go as well...LOL It took just a few minutes to find him...Trust me I can spot him anywhere....LOL LOL

*About.com recommended to.......Dissolve ten ounces of Twenty Mule Team Borax into four ounces of warm water, then dilute it in 2 1/2 gallons of water. This should be sprayed evenly over 1,000 square feet of lawn, no more, no less.

*The Garden Web gave info on using weed chemicals.........When searching for a herbicide look for products containing triclopyr. This includes Weed B Gon Purple, Weed B Gon Chickweed, and Weed B Gone Max. . The best time to apply your perennial weed control products for species such as creeping Charlie is in fall (October 1-15). At this time weeds will be going dormant and storing nutrients, and if you spray at this time the weed will actually store the herbicide, giving you the best control response. The second best time is in the spring right at and after creeping Charlie flowers.

I suppose I will continue to pick a bit each week...until we decide what approach to take on him. But now I know at least his name....which is a great start on getting him out of here!!!
