CVS Run....

I never made it to CVS last week....so I had to make sure to get there this week to use up some Extra Bucks about to expire!! Here is what I purchased:

-2- CVS Packs Jumbo Packs Supreme Diapers $5.99 each

-1- CVS 12,000 sheets Toilet Paper 12 pack $4.99

-3- Puff Tissues (great for the winter colds...they are the softness!!) **I used the $1.00/3 Puffs coupon from last Sunday's P&G insert to get 3 boxes for just $1.64...or 55 cents each!!)

-1- Crest Toothpaste $1.99 ** Free after using the $1.00 off coupon from last P&G insert...plus I earned $1.00 back in Extra Bucks for buying this!!!**

-1- Johnson's Buddy Soap ****(Free after using $1.00 off coupon from here)

Total Before Coupons and Extra Bucks: $22.59

Minus Total in Coupons: $6.00 ($2 in Manny's and $4/20 Purchase coupon from Recycle Bank rewards!!)

Total Extra Bucks Used: $5.79

Total Paid out of pocket: $10.80 and earned $1.00 back in ExtraBucks!!

Never Get To Comfy.....

Our auto insurance 6 month premium is due at the end of this month...so 2 weeks ago we received our renewal packet from our current auto insurance company Allstate. In the past 6 months we have had no accidents, have not gotten any new vehicles, and have not received any citations. Yet...or insurance increased $200 over the next 6 months ($400 for the next year). I was confused, as I thought auto insurance was supposed to lower due to good driving. So hubby called up to see why the rates were increasing....they said they had a rate increase approved across the board for all customers.

So, we decided to call around and see if we could find a better rate?? We called 3 other carriers and ended up finding a better rate with a savings of $380 cheaper a year with the same limits we currently have on our vehicles with Allstate. WOW!! I was impressed!! I know that sometimes it is just easier to leave things the way they are...but for just three 10-15 minute calls for estimates we have saved ourselves $380!! That half hour or so on the phone was well worth it!! You just never know until you try!!!

Ours is Going Bye Bye.....

At the beginning of the summer Linens N Things announced that it was having financial problems and that they would be closing under-performing stores. I like Linens N Things, and was very happy when I found out the one closest to us would be sticking around. I was not surprised at all...as they are always very busy whenever I was there. I am not a regular weekly shopper at LNT, but I have gotten many hard to find items there over the years!! And with the 20% off and $5 coupons they mailed to me so frequently...I have gotten many great deals there!! I especially loved their cocktail drink mixes for BBQ's and parties. They were always a hit with guests!!

So yesterday I had to run an errand and noticed that there were "Going out of Business" signs all over the front doors to LNT!!! What...how could that be?? Then I read this yesterday....and this explains why my LNT will not be around much longer!! Bummer!!

So here's to you LNT....I wish you did not have to go....I will miss you!!

New To You.....

I am all about trying to clean out the house of anything we are no longer using or that does not fit!! I am a clutter hater, big time!! I feel as though the more clutter we have around....the more stuff I have to move out of the way when I clean. And me, personally I like to make that lovely job of cleaning as easy and painless as possible.

Although I love to move things outta here...I also do not like to just through perfectly good things away in the trash either. If I can find "our junk" a good home....I am very happy!! In most cases it really is not junk.....it is just stuff we no longer have a use for, but is in fine shape. I do usually participate in a yard sale once a year...but I am not really into storing every single item in the attic until the sale happens usually months away. So in order to pass on things we no longer need at any time of year I am big into Craigslist.

If I think I can sell something on Craigslist I do list it and see how it goes....I have sold lots on the site... a cradle swing from Little Miss, a baby walker, a washer, dryer, sofa, toddler bed, baby clothes, and a few other misc. items too. I have had great success with Craigslist.....even if I only make a few bucks...it was a few bucks more than I had plus it is out of our house!!!

Craigslist also has a free section.....in fact just this past Sunday we went a few towns over and picked up 10 baby koi fish for our pond!! Yippee!! I have also listed items in the Free section to give away as well...I was so astonished by the overwhelming response the many times I have offered items!!

I also have purchased many things from Craigslists as well!! Especially when Little Miss was younger I remember I purchased a nice big lot of Newborn baby clothes, all new with the tags for a fraction of the price I would of payed in-store. I was so excited to get the great deal....and the lady was excited to be able to see them get some use!!

I love Craigslist to me it is like an online yard sale....you can almost find whatever you are looking for on there at a fraction of the retail price...and even sometimes it is brand new!!

Someone Needs to Stop Me!!!!

On buying more summer clothes for Little Miss for next year that is!! I am on a roll with the great deals lately!! Popped into Old Navy this weekend to see if I could find any deals using my 20% off Stuff a Bag coupon. Of course Little Miss made out once again...although I did get myself a pair of jeans for just $8.00!!! The Old Navy store I visited was having a weekend sale of 50% off all Baby Clearance!! Yippee!! Here is what I picked up for Little Miss:

They had a good amount of baby items....but I already bought her some clearance over the past few weeks at Kohl's, The Children's Place, and Old Navy...so I just picked up a few things. Now, for the last time, I think Little Miss is set for next summer!! LOL LOL

My Attempt At Baking......

For this weeks Tackle it Tuesday, it is all about trying to use up 2 large Zucchini's I have before they spoil. So what better to make than Zucchini Bread?? Mmm I love Zucchini Bread...I can still remember the taste of my Mom's when I was a kid...delicious!! So, I asked her for her recipe to give it a try....so here go, wish me luck!!! (I am by far not the best cook..but I always attempt, at least!!)

You will need:

3 Eggs

1 3/4 cups sugar
1 cup oil

2 cups zucchini (grated and skin unpeeled)

3 tsp. vanilla
3 cups flour

1 tsp. salt
1 tsp baking soda

1/2 tsp baking powder

3 tsp cinnamon

1 cup walnuts

First beat eggs, add sugar oil, zucchini, and vanilla. Mix lightly but well. Next combine dry ingredients is separate bowl and mix lightly. Put wet and dry ingredients together, then add cinnamon and nuts. Pour into 4 greased and floured small loaf pans.

Bake at 350 degrees for 30 minutes and then cool on rack.

Mmm....slice and Enjoy!!!

In The Darndest Places...

In our local Sunday paper each and every week there is a little magazine called USA Weekend. It contains a few celeb tidbits, a few articles, crossword, horoscope, etc. I usually never, ever look through it, much less read it. But a few weeks back, I happened to flip through it for some reason and found a J&J coupon on one of the pages....the week CVS was having a J&J sale too!! Since then I have been flipping through it just in case!! LOL LOL

This week there were 2 coupons for a FREE Southern Chicken Biscuit & Sandwich when you buy ANY medium or large drink at McDonald's. You never know where you will find a coupon these days....the hunt is Oh so exciting, isn't it!!

Oh How I Love Thee Clearance!!!

As you know I am big into shopping at the end of a season!! That is when the best Clearance deals can be found!! This year being no exception!!! I love to shop at the end of a season not only for the great deals.....but it also it is a great time saver for me!!! If I stock up on a few items for next summer now then at the beginning of next spring there is no need for me to rush to get to the store for a few pair of shorts and shirts for a few 90 degree days we may have early on!!

I must admit....lately I have been doing a little more online shopping then in the past...as I find it way easier than having to put the kiddies through many trips to stores for clothes shopping!!
