CVS Weekly Run....

Not much on sale this week....or maybe it's just too hot to shop?? I just ran in real quick to use up some ExtraBucks on a few things that were on sale this week.

This is what I purchased:
-1- Huggies Wash $3.49
-1- Jumbo Pack Huggies Diapers $7.99

I had the following coupons:
-1- 1.50/1 Huggies Wash (From CVS mailer they sent me on Monday)
-1- 2.50/1 Huggies Diapers (From the CVS mailer they sent me on Monday)
-1- 3.49 in ExtraBucks
-1- 3.98 in ExtraBucks

I paid $0.00.....and got back $2.00 in ExtraBucks for the Huggies Wash!!! Not bad at all fro baby items we use daily!!

RecycleBank..Ever Heard of It???

After a few months of consideration our township has just decided to participate in a new Recycling program called RecycleBank. They just dropped of this new snazzy large wheeled cart the other day (see pic at right...)...it is so large I think me and the kiddies could fit inside...LOL LOL We are current recyclers now....we fill up our recycling bucket each and every week...yes, it is about 1/3 of the size of the new bucket...so we shall see if we can even fill up the new one half way......

There seems to be some great perks about this new RecycleBank program to encourage more recycling in our town. Here are a few of the highlights.....

-Convenience.....We will simply throw all of our recyclables into the Recycling Cart...there is NO need to sort recyclables anymore......just toss everything in the cart.

-Recycle More.....We can recycle more items than previously...We can now recycle aluminium cans, steel cans, tin cans, Plastic Containers #1, 2, Detergent Containers, Plastic Milk Containers, Glass bottles and jars, Cereal boxes, newspapers, telephone books, mixed paper, cardboard, and junk mail.

-Get Rewards....We can now earn rewards for recycling.....Each week the amount we recycle is calculated by an automated system on the Recycling truck and is then converted to recycle Bank points. These points can be converted to order rewards at participating partners including CVS, ShopRite, Kraft Products, Dick's Sporting Goods, and many more!!

It seems like an even better incentive to recycle even more than we currently do!! Recycling is a great way to save the environment and now for doing so we will be rewarded for our efforts!!! I am excited about the new program...and cannot wait for it to start in a few weeks.

It'a Amusement Park Time......

Ahh Yes.....The Summer is upon us....especially here...for the past few days it's been well over 90 degrees!! So who does not like to have a few family fun days at the amusements parks with the family??? I know we go to at least 2 different parks a season....as Little Man just loves them!!! The day can get expensive rather quickly if you do not plan ahead...admission, parking, lunch, snacks, etc!! Here are a few things we have learned over the past two years about Amusement Park trips....

1. Always Pack a Lunch and Plenty of Snacks- Amusements parks are known for the fun times, the rides, and the entertainment..not the food!! It is over-priced and not very tasty....actually some of it we've tasted kind of reminds me of cafeteria food...LOL LOL We always stop at Wawa and pick up some Hoagies before hand...we also pack snacks, lots of water, juice boxes, and fruit in a cooler. Most parks even have picnic areas for you to sit and relax while eating.

2. Pack the Essentials- Make sure you have sunblock, water shoes, towels, cash, waterproof camera, sunglasses, and anything else you think you may need to keep you comfortable and safe from a day in the hot sun. At the park the mark up on these "need to have" items is a big hunk of cash...so plan ahead and save a few bucks!!!

3. Use A Coupon- Who says you can not have loads and loads of "Fun" at a discount??? Sure you can...and guess what at the discounted Price you will have just as much fun as the guy who paid full price..can't beat that!!! Here are a few great coupon offers for Amusement Parks near us.....

Six Flags Great Adventure- Head to Wawa they have coupons for $20 off the price of admission on weekends for up to 4 people OR B1G1 FREE admission on the weekdays.

Or Cans of Coke have B1G1 FREE on weekdays admission or $15.00 off on Weekends
The Coke Can also have a coupon on it for $5.00 off a Daily Admission to Hurricane Harbor. Coke Can coupons are vaild until 9/1/08.

Bartering....Have You Tried It?

Have you ever bartered before?? Meaning have you ever traded services or goods without the exchange of money?? Now that economy is not as good as it used to be I hear that bartering is the new up and coming way to get theings and services you need. I am now noticing more ads in my local newspaper for bartering goods and services, plus Craigslist has a Bartering Category that is pretty popular these days. I myself have never tried it.... Sounds like a great idea though. Itseems like a great way to get rid of items you are no longer using or need and exchange them for an item/items that you would love to own or want. Now that I think back maybe I could have bartered some of Little Miss's baby items?? Would someone really want them? Would they really have something I needed or would have wanted in return? I had never even thought about it??

I would love to know if you have bartered before? Did it work out? Now that you look back was it a good experience for you? Any downside to the barter you participated in? Please share...as I am very curious to see if it actually works out well for both sides.

Macy's Is Awesome!!

Tomorrow Macy's is having a Big One Day Sale.....Since I already have plans tomorrow, I decided to pop in today to see if I can find any deals. Macy's always has a preview day, the day before the actual sale...which is good, since it gives you 2 days to get there!! I received the Macy's sale book for this sale last week (they send them out to Macy's cardholders...a great perk to having a card there!) and by the prices in the book, most were at 50% off...I thought I just might find a few things! Plus, on the second page of the sale book was a coupon for $10 off a $30 purchase...valid from 8am-1pm both days. There were also the same coupons in our local newspaper today and yesterday...so I clipped them out as well.

So off to Macy's I went early this morning with my coupons in hand. I headed to the baby girls department first...as Little Miss is growing like a weed lately and everything is too tight anymore. The girl loves to eat!! LOL LOL I ended up getting her these 3 Capri outfits. They were on sale for just $9.99 each (regularly $26 each) minus one of the $10 coupons...so for the 3 outfits I paid just $19.97!!!

Found nothing for Little Man....so then I was off to see what I could find for myself..... I ended up getting 2 pairs of shorts and 2 shirts. I divided them into two transactions so that I was able to use 2 of the $10 off coupons. The first transaction I purchased these 2 items for a total of $21.60 (Regularly priced together was originally $74.00).

The second transaction I purchased these two items for a total of $26.00 (Regularly priced together was originally $72.00).

I think I did quite well. And I was only in there for about 30 minutes!! Just another reason why I love Macy's!! With the sales and coupons combined...you can really get some great deals!!! Remember...the sales runs threw tomorrow!!!

How About a Nice Slurpee to Cool You Down??

Has it been super hot where you are the past few days?? Well around our way it has been well over 90 degrees for about 3 days now...today is #4...Yippee!! I really should not be complaining....as in the heart of winter, I just could not wait for the warm weather to arrive!! So here we are!! I promise I will make the best of it!! How about a coupon for a Slurpee to cool you down?? I know Little Man loves Slurpee's...he will be so excited to get the 1st one of the season!!

Need Crafts for the Kiddies to Do???

Does this sound familiar?? It's mid July...it's 95 degrees out, the kiddies want to do something fun, but different than the usual pool and sprinkler thing. How about crafts?? I know My little Man loves crafts...especially when they are "Cool" ones. By cool I mean...lots of gluing, painting, cutting, coloring, and of course, decorating all by themselves a wonderful craft creation. I am all about the free printables as you know...but I love to mix in a few not so ordinary crafts as well....it's all the more fun for the kiddies!!

Look What I Got In the Mail Today......

It's always exciting each day to see what freebie, or coupons I receive in the mail....Sometimes I receive things that I have even forgotten that I signed up for!! Well, today I was in luck..... Look what I received in the mail today........

-A CVS Mailer with $9.50 worth of Huggies coupons....Some for diapers, wipes, and bath products!! Yippee!! It's almost as good as a freebie! I never get any CVS coupons by mail!! Maybe my luck is changing??

The one $2.50/1 Huggies diapers will be great to use this week at CVS...as they have Huggies Jumbos for just $7.99 a pack until Saturday!!

Man....it's almost scary how excited I get when I receive great coupons. Right??
