I Guess The Floor Does Not Pick Up After People??

I am assuming that anyway...going by all the crumbs, dirt, coupons, wrappers, leaves, etc. that have accumulated on the floor of my car!! I must admit...it has been about 3 weeks since the last vacuum and clean-up of the inside of my car...and boy Oh boy you can surely tell it needed it. I am almost too embarrassed to even post the before pics....but I will such a good sport and all!!

I know, I know, by the pics you would think we live in the car, wouldn't you?? If you can believe it....which I am sure it is hard by the pics you just peeked at....I promise the floors in my house are clean........much cleaner in fact, I do not lie!! Hey, if your in the neighborhood, you welcome to pop in and check on them yourself!! lol lol

Here are the floors after......they are spic and span clean:

I almost do not want to drive anywhere tomorrow....as I am sure you know with the kiddies in tow by tomorrow night they will not look so clean anymore!! Oh well, at least I have pics now of how clean my car can be....even if not for that long!! lol lol

For The Valentine's Party.....

Well believe it or not Valentine's Day is almost here!! Little Man's preschool class is having a Valentine's Party tomorrow....so today we had to tackle the Valentine's he will be passing out to all his friends!! I am usually on top of things a little better than the day before the occasion, but
I'm sure you know how that can go sometimes!!

So Little Man and I headed to Target to get the Valentine's. Of course he spotted the cute little heart goodie bags in the Dollar Spot section on the way in and decided he would like to give each friend in his class one of those. I was planning on giving each child a lollipop and card...but he said pretty please, and was so excited......I gave in. (I know, I know, I shouldn't have)

So here is what went into each little goodie bag:

A Valentine's stamp, a little notepad, a heart pencil, a lollipop, and a card.

Here are the bags...a work in progress.....

Little Man showing one off.....

And here are 2 finished ones....

And here are all 15 of them.....

All in all it cost about $10 for the 15 Valentine's bags....a bit more than I was planning on spending, but well worth it!! The two of us had a great time filling them, labeling them...and talking about just how much his school friends will like receiving them!! It took us about 30 minutes....and it was a great boding time for the two for us all while Little Miss napped.

Coupons, Coupons.....AHH!!

It's been a few weeks since there have been coupon inserts in the Sunday Paper due to the holidays. It was kind of, well sortof a bit nice having a bit of a coupon clipping/filing break. Don't get me wrong though.....I would surely miss them if they were absent from another Sunday paper for a third week in a row!! My grocery budget would be...well way off!! Yikes!!

So this past Saturday when my weekend paper was delivered and I opened it up to find 5 jam packed insert full of coupons...I was so excited!! So I grabbed the coupon packets, scissors, my weekly store fliers, and coupon holder and got to work. Not only did I have to clip, sort and file....I also had to throw out all the expireds. Let me just tell you there were TONS that expired on 12/31/08!!!!

Here is a look at the table in the midst of all the coupon fun....LOL LOL

And here it is all nice and clean after I was finished, filing, sorting, recycling, writing...etc. This is more like a dining table, right??

Here's hoping that "5 inserts" do not show up again this week......Boy am I tired!! LOL LOL

For The Classmates....

This Friday is Little Man's Holiday party at Preschool. He is so very excited about it!! He asked me if it would be okay to get his friends from his class a little something from him to give out at the party. At his last school party back in October he still remembers and plays with the stamps another classmate gave out to each classmate. So I found some great 39 cents deals at Walgreen's last week and stocked up on a few goodies to make simple little gift bags for the 14 kiddies in his class.

Here is what I purchased:

*5 Disney mini puzzles
*9 Speed Wheels cars
*14 Snowman Peeps

Then I headed to the Dollar Store and picked up:

*A box of mini candy canes
*A package of gift bags

Then Little Man with Little Miss helping too stuffed all the bags.....the boys bags include a car, Peeps, and few mini candy canes. The girls bags included a puzzle, Peeps, and a few candy canes. Then I just wrapped a little ribbon to close each bag and placed a label on it.

Here is a bag all tied up and ready to go!!

And here's all 14 of them!!

Our Gingerbread Tree

This weeks tackle is a family tackle actually.....all together the four of us put together and decorated a Gingerbread Tree. For the past 3 years we have done this each and every year all together....and Little Man really looks forward to it!! We usually put together a Gingerbread House, but this year Little Man spotted a Gingerbread Tree at the craft store and thought it might be fun to make one of those instead. So we all agreed....a Tree it will be this year!!

Here are Little Man and Little Miss getting ready to begin!!

Here is the Tree stacked up and iced in between the layers...Little Man is patiently waiting a few minutes for it to dry a little.

Here is Little Man putting the snow on.....

And now the other side of the Tree....

And here it is...the finished Tree!! Isn't it pretty??

All in all it took us a little over and hour and a half to put together and decorate the tree. We listened to Christmas songs on the radio and had a great time laughing and decorating it all together!! This is one of those great everlasting memorable tackles!! And now she sits Oh so pretty on Little Man's bedroom dresser....as he was so excited to be able to have a tree in his room for the holidays!!

It's Seen Better Days....

When we moved into our current home a few years back they had a nice little program to welcome us to our new neighborhood called "The Welcome Wagon". They sent us an address book with some local business name and numbers, along with coupons for local restaurants, car washes, businesses, etc. Well here is a picture of the address book we received almost 3.5 years ago....it's a bit beat up!!

Not to mention all the different slips of paper containing friends change of addresses, business cards from contractors or companies we have used while living here, etc. There is also a whole lot of crossing out of old info, pages torn, bent, pages not even attached to the book any longer....just a bit of a mess!!

Plus, I must admit if you were looking for the name and address of one of our friends or family member, you would have a bit of a hard time finding it. I have some names under last names, some under first names, some under maiden names, etc. I can assure you that you could never tell from my address book that I am a very neat and organized person!! LOL LOL

So my dear cousin asked me if I needed a new address book. She had a few new one she did not need....I was so excited!! It does not take much!! LOL LOL I have needed a new one for quite some time, and I was ready to have a nice organized one as well!!

So here it is........Ta-da!! Isn't it pretty?? I think so, anyway!! And guess what I wised up with this address book, I wrote down all the names and address's in pencil!! Genius, I know!! This way when someone moves, I can just erase the old and re-write the new in the same spot. No more crossing out, or X-ing out...or adding a slip of paper inside the book!!

Leaves, Leaves, Everywhere!!

Well, the fall is almost gone and we have yet to rake our back lawn. It seems like every time we were ready to head out on a Saturday or Sunday morning the past few weekend where we had time, it would be raining out. Bummer!! The one morning we actually starting blowing and raking...and about 15 minutes after we walked out the door it started pouring rain! Yikes!! I suppose leaf clean-up was just not meant to be for us until now!! LOL LOL

So here it is our backyard...covered in leaves!! Literally I do not think there was place in the yard where a leaf did not cover the ground! We have 4 of our own trees in our backyard, plus 2 neighboring trees that border our yard. So leaves are plentiful come the fall season.

Little Man is the distance with his rake in hand....he really is one amazing leaf raker...I have to say!!

We decided since there were so many leaves that we would rake into piles then load them all onto the tarp and take to the font curb for pick-up later this week. Since we had rain the two days prior to our raking...the leaves were not only soaking wet...but very water-logged and heavy to move!!

Hey, look you can actually see the ground!!! Amazing....it's been a few weeks!! LOL

And here is our backyard 3 hours after we started. Leaf-free...well almost anyway...a few stragglers may still be here and there. Here's hoping that they blow away on there own!! LOL That's the upside to raking so late in the season....you only have to do it once...since all the leaves are now off the trees...in our yard anyway!!

It's Been A While.......Mr. Fridge.

Well....its has been a while dear fridge...since I have last emptied you and cleaned you out!!! I do apologize, because from the looks of these before pictures....you were definitely overdue!!

A few spills....Ewww!!

Here is all the fridge contents all over the kitchen counters......Man, did not seem like the little fridge could hold so much!! Thanks to Little Man and Little Miss for helping to take everything out.....they had a blast helping!!

Here it is all emptied, and finally clean!!

Like last time I tackled the fridge I placed paper towels in all the door cubbies....to help keep it a bit cleaner a bit longer. This way if a spill occurs....I can just change out the paper towel and wipe the cubbie quickly.

Here is the fridge all put back together.....notice how emptier it is...they were a few empty containers, and a few rotten or expired items lingering in there that we tossed!!

It took us about an hour....but it was well worth it!! It's gleaming now!! Until next time, anyway!!
