Are You Looking 4 Gifts that Give Back??

It's the season of giving....there are many, many gift choices out there for you choose from. But perhaps you are looking for a more meaningful present or socking stuffer this year. Perhaps a gift that also gives back to your community or helps someone in need? Well, this holiday season IKEA has a few great gift ideas with giving back in mind!! After all, what could be better than a gift of contribution during the holiday season?

Here are some great give and get back gift options IKEA has to offer this holiday season.......

1. IKEA Soft Toys: For each lovable, huggable soft toy purchased from November 1 through December 24, IKEA will donate approximately $1.30 ($1 Euro Dollar) to 16 Save the Children and UNICEF children’s educational programs in 14 developing countries. Last year the IKEA soft toy program raised over $4 million, this year, IKEA hopes to raise over $6 million this year!

2. UNICEF Greeting Cards: Did you know that 85% of Americans send greeting cards each year? 100% of IKEA proceeds from UNICEF greeting card sales are donated to UNICEF.

3. “ America at Home” Book: 100% of the proceeds from the unique coffee-table book will be donated to Save the Children's Early Steps to School Success program, which promotes literacy in young children in the U.S. to prepare them for a lifetime of learning. The book’s cover can be customized to feature a home or family photo that is uploaded to
http://www.myamericaathome.com/, making it a gift that will be cherished for years.

4. IKEA PS GRINDTORP: These colorful pillows are the result of social responsibility programs that include zero tolerance for child labor, an early education school program and an inoculation program for babies and moms-to-be. When you give this gift, it provides thousands of women with the economic growth they need to take care of themselves and their families.

Just some great gift ideas to think about while shopping this holiday season....I am sure the gift recipient will be so delighted to know that their gift is still giving as they hold it in their hands!!

Have You Started Yet???

Holiday shopping that is?? I must admit...I have started a little..but have a long way to go!! I have been slowing starting to pick up bargains I have been seeing here and then in a couple stores. I usually get most of my shopping done on Black Friday...Yes, hubby and I are those crazies out shopping at 4pm that day after Turkey Day!! Hey...if there are deals...I am there!!

I did pick up Little Man's big gift from "Santa"...in fear that if I waited too long it may not be on any store shelf. No great deal on it...just lucky I got it. Shipped for free, if that counts?? LOL I also already have 2 DVD's for him as well....Thanks to the Borders $5 off coupon a few months back!!

Thanks to Bath & Body Works and the great coupons they have been offering I also got a little something for each of Little Man's teachers as well. I just need to get them each a gift card to go with the little something I picked up for next to nothing!!

Little Miss has been started as well....picked her up the Little Mommy twin babies set back in July at Target on Clearance for 75% off!! Still have alot to get for her yet!!

For hubby's side of the family we are not doing adult presents this year. Although I do plan to get something for each of the aunts...something small from the kiddies...I'll see what I come across in the next month or so!!

I finished my niece the other day online at American Girl...using a coupon code, which is rare for American Girl!! 1st I have ever seen in the years I have been buying for her at American Girl!! So I jumped on it!! LOL

My sister's kiddies are a bit far...in Florida, so I will buy them something online with free shipping, I hope!! Usually Amazon pulls thru every year for me on that!!!

I do not plan to spend as much this year as last. Just trying to save as much as possible for those possible rainy days ahead, if you will. Hubby and I will do like last year...buy something for the house as our gift for each other. Last year was a TV...this year, well have to see. Otherwise we buy for one another....and then make a ton of returns that day or 2 after Christmas for the right sizes, colors, etc. Waste of time I think...so last year we did it this way...and it was wonderful!!! I am just not to into returning!!! Yuck!!

So what is your plan for the holidays this year? Are you cutting back on big time holiday gift spending this year? Has your list to buy for gotten a bit smaller than in past years? Do you have any great holiday gift ideas? Let us know!!

Are You An Online Shopper??

Each and every year...it seems like I am becoming more and more of an online shopper. What can I say it is just plain old easier to comparison shop online than me running to 3 different traditional brick & mortar stores with the kiddies in tow. So if I can find a great deal on an item online that I am looking to purchase....then I am all for it!! What could be better than shopping in your P.J's right??? Most times the deals can be found......but it's the high shipping charges that can make the deal...well, not so good.

That is where FreeShipping.org can help! They offer free shipping codes to over 800 stores that we shop online day in and day out. All you do is search the site by store name, category, or even soon to be expired codes. Your results will pop up in an instant with any free shipping promo codes out there. It's just that easy!! And best of all it is totally FREE to use!!!

Some codes do require a minimum purchase to be made...but it is clearly stated under the code. This is just another great tool to use to save on shipping charges....especially with all the holiday shopping to be done over the next month or so!!

Happy Free Shipping to you!!!

Update on the Genuardi's Cereal Sale.....

I ran into Genuardi's last night to cash in on the cereal deals and of course the Safeway Frosted Flakes were no where to be found down the cereal isle. They had every single kind but, my luck sometimes...LOL LOL So I went to the Customer Service desk to see if they maybe had any on an end cap somewhere in the store, or perhaps more stocked in the back? The associate went with me to the cereal isle and said he would substitute 5 boxes of Kellogg's Frosted Flakes for the Safeway Frosted Flakes. Yippee!! I was very, very impressed with the great customer service!! I got 5 boxes of Kellogg's Frosted Flakes for just $1 a box!!!

I must say for my second time ever in a Genuardi's they made me a very happy customer!!! I will be back!!!

Oh How I Love Thee Clearance!!!

As you know I am big into shopping at the end of a season!! That is when the best Clearance deals can be found!! This year being no exception!!! I love to shop at the end of a season not only for the great deals.....but it also it is a great time saver for me!!! If I stock up on a few items for next summer now then at the beginning of next spring there is no need for me to rush to get to the store for a few pair of shorts and shirts for a few 90 degree days we may have early on!!

I must admit....lately I have been doing a little more online shopping then in the past...as I find it way easier than having to put the kiddies through many trips to stores for clothes shopping!! I remember as a kid I hated it!! It was so boring!! So if there is a FREE shipping offer online....I am in!!

Thanks to Mir at Want Not... little over a week ago she posted a Free Shipping code and a 15% off coupon code to Kohl's. (Yes, you can combine 2 coupon codes per order at Kohl's!!) So I decided to check out the clearance section to see what I could find. Here is what I found at bargain prices.......

I got Little Man.....
-2- Tony Hawk woven shirts for $4.40 each
-1- Tony Hawk Muscle T for $2.40
-1- Pair of Sonoma Cargo shorts for $4.80
-2- Pair Jumping Beans Mesh shorts for $2.40 each

I got Little Miss.....
-2- Nike Sundresses for $5.20 each
-3- Jumping Beans tanks for $2.40 each
-1- Pair Jumping Beans shorts for $4.00
-1- Carter's Tank for $3.40

Minus 15% off (6.84)....so I paid just $38.76 for the 13 items including Free Shipping!!!

I got the clothes in about 6 days and the best part is I never even stepped into the store!!! I just love online shopping!!

To Steve & Barry's We Went....

We had a birthday party this past Saturday..and on the way we decided to leave a little early to check out Steve & Barry's....as they have a store right around the corner from the party we were attending. I had heard about the chain a few weeks back when they had a story air about them on TV. You can read that post here. I had told hubby all about them and we were excited to check them out for ourselves.

The store was HUGE!!!! It was so big it was almost overwhelming!!!! They have a massive selection of Men's , Women's, Girls, Boys & Baby Clothing as well as Shoes, College Apparel, and even Golf Apparel. Everything in the store is just $8.98 an item!! Several T's were even on special 2 for $15 if you bought 2.

The store was clean, mostly organized...except for a few sections...like the women's jeans...WOW!!! What a mess that was! They offer fitting rooms, the staff was friendly, and they even accept credit cards. We were in the store for about an hour....browsing, and taking in the experience.....it's kind of a little weird to shop knowing that every item you pick-up is the same price as the last and next!!! Not bad...just a little weird!!! LOL LOL

We found a few great items....headed to the fitting room...and ended up just buying this cute little jacket for Little Miss!!! It's so darling...I cannot wait for fall so she can wear it!!!

I am sure we will stop in again..if we are nearby...as it was a neat store. And I am sure they will get new merchandise before we get back. We are glad we went....and look forward to the next time.

You Would of Thought They Were Giving Stuff Away.....

We headed to Old Navy on Saturday...we hadn't planned on going but my mother-in-law called us and asked if we would try to stop in and see if they had any of the $1 Flip Flops...for my sister-in-laws wedding reception. So Little Miss had fallen asleep so we could run just a few more errands while she slept.

We drove into the parking lot....and it was jam packed...not a spot available!! We had to head to a neighboring lot to park. We should of known then....We headed inside to find the place jumping!! People everywhere..never have I seen it so crowded...not even around Christmas!!

They had all the flip Flops in the center of the store (that was great!)...or at least used to have....they had way more empty racks than full ones!! All they had in women's were white, black, and brown....and only had size 5 and 6's left!!! Darn...maybe if I glue 2 together for myself they may work??? LOL LOL So, we got none for me...and none for my sister-in-law...as they had hit another Old Navy up earlier in the day and got size 5 and 6's already!! We did manage to get a few pairs for hubby and Little Man though.

They were having a summer sale....most items were 50% off...not really cheap enough for me yet...LOL LOL But, I did get Little Miss a bathing suit for $7.25...she was in dire need...if you would of seen her belly in the one she has now!! She's growing like a weed, lately....at least her belly is, anyway!!!

Plus, I at the bottom of my receipt printed a 10% off coupon for my next visit...I;ll be saving that for the 75% off summer sale..coming up soon!! Can't wait!!

So were you able to get any $1 Flip Flops on Saturday?? Maybe you had better luck...or maybe you are one of the lucky ones who has tiny feet?? LOL
