The Coupon Made Me Go!!!

I ventured to Aldi's a while back...and was not that impressed. Not that anything was bad about the store...just that it added another stop I would have to make for a few items that I could get elsewhere for about the same price. I was not sure I would be back....

But then just 2 days ago....guess what came in the mail?? A $5 off a $30 purchase coupon at a New local Aldi's. Along with the coupon were a few advertised Grand Opening Specials. So I figured...save $5, great specials, and a new store to check out...Why not go??

So I did just that yesterday...and here is what I walked out with for just $31.52!!!

-4- Gallons of Milk @ $2.99 a gallon. A steal around this way!! **
-1- 32 oz. Vanilla Fit & Active Yogurt $1.59
-4- 100% Juice Bottles $2.19 each
-1- Container Feta Cheese Crumbles $1.99
-1- Bag Caesar Salad Kit $1.99
-1- Bag Fit & Active Yogurt Covered Raisins $ 1.49
-3- Dozen Large Eggs @ .99 each **
-1 Bag Hashed Brown Potatoes $1.49
-1- American Cheese Singles $1.99
-1- Pancake Syrup $1.29
-1- Bag Bananas (A little over 2 lbs.) .88

I was very happy with the trip...I got a few items that we needed and spent just a little over $30...and I was in-and-out in under 20 minutes!! I will be back again next week....as I have another coupon for next week too!! I did notice that the store had a large number of named brand products (frozen foods, Pop Tarts, Fruit snacks, candy, crackers, etc.) as well....and at pretty reasonable prices it seemed too.

**Grand Opening Specials

Look What We Made....

Little Man's birthday is fast approaching and he decided that he would like to have a Wall-E Robot themed party this year. I thought it sounded like a cool idea....something a little different. I thought it would be kinda fun for him to wear a Wall-E t-shirt for his party...it is his special day after all!! I thought I could just run to Walmart and grab a Wall-E T-shirt....easy peasy. Not the case!! So I decided to look online to see if I could find one. I found a few....but none of them were to his or my liking. Sorry...looking like a bright yellow jacket on your birthday...is just not Little Man's thing....LOL LOL

So hubby and I decided to make one. I ran to Michael's and purchased a Jerzees t-shirt for $2.60 (after using my 40% off coupon).

Then we found a picture of Wall-E Little Man liked and we printed it onto a transfer (I had already had a pack of these in the closet, unopened..not sure where they came from...LOL).

Then we took the transfer and placed it on the shirt where we thought it looked best. We then ironed over the transfer for about 3 minutes. We then peeled off the backing that we had ironed over and.....

Here it is......Our finished Wall-E shirt!!! Not bad for first timers, right??

Little Man saw it last night...and was so excited!! So in case you can't find it...whatever it may be, maybe you can make it??

My First Check!!

About 2 months The"Cent"sible Sawyer featured a post about participating in a free diaper study for Arquest. I thought free diapers for a few days....I'm in!! LOL LOL So I called the 1-800 # to sign up.

Then about 4 weeks later I received a phone call from an Arquest representative asking if I still had a baby girl in size 4 diapers...and if I would like to participate in a diaper study. All I would need to do is try a pack of un-named (to me) diapers out for a few days that they would mail to me then fill-out a survey after tying out the diapers for a few days. The rep gave me a call-back date and time when she would call me so I could give my responses to the filled-out survey I answered on paper. It took about 7 minutes...and she said that as a Thank You I would receive a $10 in the mail in a few weeks.

Well...it came yesterday!! My $10 check!! Ahh the excitement!!!
I am not sure if they are still doing diaper studies....but maybe you can call to find out?? Their number is (888) 342-7372. It was an easy $10 and a free pack of diapers as well!!

Is That a Pot On His Head???

On Friday Little Man along with his class celebrated Johnny Appleseed's Birthday!! Here he is proudly displaying his hand-made hat...and his new favorite apple.... yellow!!

Lots more Wordless Wednesday's here!!

To Make You a Bit Lighter.....Perhaps??

Ahh....You see all those coupons...they all expired yesterday!! Apparently, 9/30 was a big expiration date on many coupons!! Last night I went through my coupon organizer and inserts and emptied out and recycled all the expired's!!

Just a friendly reminder...in case you have yet to tackle the expired's!!

Have Fun!!

The Helpers I Have.....

Have you ever been in the midst of making a meal in your kitchen and you go into the drawer to grab the beaters for the mixer, and you can only find one??? Or what about when you were making banana bread and the loaf pans are no where to be found?? You know you have loaf pans....it's just where you put them last is the question.

Well, in my kitchen too....organization was a problem a few years back when I moved into my home. You move in, put stuff in drawers, cabinets, stuff it where ever it fits as long as it is out of the moving box....and then the trouble starts the first time you try to make a meal. Well, after making just a few meals in this disorganized fashion....I decided I needed a little help!!

So off to Walmart I went on Saturday and purchased a few kitchen organizational helpers that I just could not live without!!!!

I introduce to you my silverware drawer.....pretty nice, huh!! Just kidding.... I just bought one of those $2.00 or so Rubbermaid Utensil organizers and it fit in my drawer perfectly and works very well to keep things in the right places!!

This little rack is actually from Lowe's....I splurged on this puppy....I think it was around $10 or so...but I needed it!! I needed somewhere to keep all my cookie sheets, brownie pan, cake pans, cutting board, trays, cookie racks, etc. This little heavy duty rack does the job perfectly and fits under my sink so well too!!

In my kitchen I have a small cabinet where I keep our address book, pens, pencils, tape, a calculator, stapler, clips, calender, etc. I keep the things I use daily here, or almost daily so I can access them easily. I use a $1 pencil case form Walmart to store the calculator, pencils, pens, markers, and clips. And I use a letter holder from Walmart to keep my calender, address book, take-out menus, important papers, etc. all neat and in one spot that I can access easily when I need to!!

Here is a picture of the metal coated drawers on the other side under my kitchen sink. These also are from Walmart for just a few bucks. They are great for me to keep my loaf pans, Tupperware, snack cups, napkins, and paper towels organized in. Plus, they slide in-and-out for easier access to the items in the back!!

These are a few of the great helpers I have in my kitchen to help me stay organized and be able to grab whatever I need, whenever I need to!! Do you have a great organizational tool in your kitchen that keeps your kitchen in order?? We'd love to know about it!!

Happy Wednesday to you!!
