Unfortunately, summer is long gone now.....but that does not mean that the fun has to end as well!! Fall is a great time for fun...and there is lots to keep the kiddies busy with!! Being that the weekend is here, why not let the kiddies have some Fall Fun today?? Turn off the TV, grab the kiddies, and go go go!! There is plenty to do and lots to see...here are a few fun things the kiddies will enjoy...and you too, of course!!
1. Fall Crafts- I know my Little Man loves crafts!! Especially when we make them together and then decorate for a holiday or season with a few of them!! He is such a proud crafter, I must say!! There are plenty of free printables crafts you may want to check out.....Here are a few of my favorite sites: DLTK's, About.com, and Enchanted Learning. All 3 of these sites have many, many different crafts and projects for various age levels all with Halloween and Fall in mind!!
2. Picking Pumpkins- This is a "Must" for all the kiddies to take part in!! Even if it is just taking a ride to a local farm to pick a pumpkin from the back of a wagon. Pumpkin picking hayrides are also alot of fun for the kiddies!! I still remember all the fun I had as a kid going pumpkin picking!!
3. Pumpkin Painting- This ties in with #2. Now that your little one has picked out the perfect pumpkin...now let them have fun painting or decorating it!! Little one not old enough to paint....let them decorate with stickers, markers, maybe glue on buttons, glitter, felt pieces...or whatever else that they may think is fun to use to decorate their pumpkin masterpiece!!
4. Check your Local Library- Our local library has Make N Take Crafts on Saturdays...a few times a month. No sign ups are required...and the crafts they make are so cute!! It's a great way to make a craft with your little one together!!
5. Take a Nature Hunt....Get a piece of paper write down, or draw objects (for little ones that cannot read)that you would like to search for outdoors. Perhaps rocks, leaves, acorns, pine cones, sticks, etc. may appear on your list. Cater it to fall items that may be found outside in your yard!! I promise the kiddies will have a blast!! Don't forget a bag..to carry all your findings!!
6. Go Apple Picking Together as a Family- This is an afternoon of good times!! Then take your pickings home and make an apple recipe together!! Maybe applesauce, maybe an apple pie, or maybe apples ala mode!!!!
7. Decorate Your House- The kiddies love this family fun!! Watch how creative they can be...and see just how "into it" they get!! It does not have to break the bank as well....You would be surprised what fun fall things the dollar store carries!! Or make your own holiday crafts and proudly display them!! Also check out local farm markets...you can usually find mums, cornstalks, bales of hay a bit cheaper than traditional stores!!
