As fall is approaching...so is cold season, unfortunately. So I decided to take an inventory of the medicines we have in the bathroom to make sure we are prepared if an illness arrives. Well...I am glad I decided to go through all the medicines.....as alot were empty boxes, and a bunch even expired!!! Here they are:
I actually found a bottle of cough medicine from 2006!! Yikes!!! I must remember to make this a more regular thing to do each and every year!! So in case it slipped your mind over the past year...or years in my case....just a friendly reminder :-)

Good reminder! I should probably check through mine, too! Thanks!
I recently went through the bathroom closet and tossed a bunch of things too....then my dad, the scientist, gave me a long lecture about how expiration dates on medicinal and similar products are very conservative because the whole job of the companies is to get you to buy more of their products... (it's kinda like you know all the CD companies COULD make a scratch proof CD, but what would be the point? Then you'd buy even less CDs). He said the organic materials in medicines gradually degrade making them less effective over time...then he started talking about the periodic table of elements & the size of hydrogen molecules and completely lost me.
Good idea! I need to do this, I know I have some stuff that is about to expire. I almost took some expired ginger capsules today for an upset stomach! yikes! lol
I just cleaned out our cabinet two weeks ago and, though hard to admit, I have you beat. There was some infant tylenol that wasn't open, but expired in 2004!! It was stuck in the back where I couldn't see it, much less reach it, but still - Yuck! Love your blog:)
